11/29/07      We just received a production EX1 and started shooting right out of the box. We will be posting very detailed reports over the next few days. For now here are some images and video clips from our first shoot.

For the most part this camera rocks. The lens is by far the best lens ever put on a camera in this price range, no breathing or ramping with minimal distortion at the wide end. A few of the cons are: highlight clipping very fast, very front heavy, no media available (shipping a camera with no media for it should be illegal). So far we have not been able to get it to sync with our ioHD, we think our io is the problem, more on this later.

WARNING for now use only Sony XDCAM Transfer 2.1 and avoid Sony Clip Viewer. We can not use the first 8gb of footage we shot because we used the COPY function in Clip Viewer to back up the SxS card to our Mac Book Pro. Although the files were transfered we can not get Transfer 2.1 to see them to transcode them into something we can use, so the footage is effectively lost. Transfer 2.1 can only see files on the SxS
